I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended Purdue University at West Lafayette for a year and a half, where I studied physics, mathematics, and computer science, but dropped out halfway through my fourth semester to make and work on guitars. This was a very short-sighted plan, and a few months later I began to work as a software developer and graphic designer - something I had been doing since I was a teenager. I worked with a couple different companies, working full-time, part-time, and as a contractor, traveling and living in different places including Johnson City, TN and Grand Rapids, MI, until I made my first mechanical keyboard in late 2014.
I began selling custom kits that were based around this keyboard, and continue to today under OLKB.
